Marvel Studios announced David Jonsson as the new Black Panther at Comic-Con International, with the actor set to play the son of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa in “Black Panther III,” scheduled for release on December 15, 2028.
Jonsson joined director Ryan Coogler on stage, alongside Letitia Wright and Winston Duke, and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to join the franchise.
Ryan Gosling will play Ghost Rider in a film set for release in 2028, re-teaming with his “Star Wars: Starfighter” director Shawn Levy.
Gosling stated that he had wanted to play the character for a long time and greeted Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, while his partner Eva Mendes starred in the original “Ghost Rider” film in 2007.
The film rights for Ghost Rider have reverted to Marvel, and the character has not yet appeared in the MCU.

Marvel Studios also announced that “Avengers: Endgame” will be re-released in theaters on September 25 with new footage linking it to “Avengers: Doomsday,” due out on December 18.
A trailer for “Avengers: Doomsday” played during the panel, showing Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor Von Doom with a past tie to Reed Richards and Sue Storm.
Downey Jr. joked that Reed and Doom were close friends, and the connection between the two has been a subject of curiosity among fans since the post-credit scene in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.”
The “Avengers: Doomsday” cast, including Wright, Duke, Chris Evans, and Hayley Atwell, took the stage, and Ryan Reynolds made a surprise appearance, crashing the panel from the audience.
Reynolds asked Paul Rudd about Thor’s crying in the previous film, and Rudd responded with a joke about Reynolds’ soccer team, Wrexham.

Marvel Studios hopes that the announcements will act as a reset for its brand, which has been diluted by an overabundance of Disney+ series and critics’ disappointment in films like “Captain America: Brave New World.”
Many fans waited over a day to get inside Comic-Con’s most-anticipated panel.
The original “Black Panther” earned over $1.3 billion worldwide and the sequel earned $850 million.
For now, fans will have to wait and see how the story unfolds, but with the talented cast and crew involved, it’s likely that the Marvel franchise will continue to thrive with new additions like Jonsson and Gosling.
